Hello and Welcome to our Istanbul blog2009-08-09 Here we want to give you interesting information and useful tips about life in Istanbul and a glimpse behind the scenes of this site. How it all began It all started a couple of years ago. Foreign friends and acquaintances were often asking about finding apartments here in Istanbul. Because most of them didn't speak Turkish, we considered making a website to bring locals and foreigners together. Time passed, and eventually a family member in Brazil asked to have a website created for her where she could offer her apartment for rent towards foreigners. Since she spoke no English, this provided the final push to create a housing site where foreigners and locals can communicate with each other across language boundaries. Moreover we wanted to create a page that would be as easy to use as possible. After over a year of preparation and 4 months of sleepless programming nights the first version was online in May 2009. First only for Brazil and then on the 19th of July 2009 also for Istanbul. The founders We are a 25 year old Brazilian living in Berlin, and a 29 year old American living in Istanbul. Eu sou um carioca que passou férias em Istambul, mas sonhava em conhecê-la desde criancinha, e voltou de lá mais apaixonado pela cidade do que pensou que pudesse ficar. Resultado? Working in Turkey Istanbul
In general its hard to live in turkey. Due to the reason, that the living cost especially in Istanbul compared to the amount of money you earning is extremely high. I know foreigners who are working for 15 Euros 8 hours a day. If you do not speak turkish, the best job you can do to earn money is teaching foreign languages.
Visa for Turkey
If you come from one of this country you can stay in Turkey for 3 months, without applying for a visa:

If you are Brasilian you need to apply for a visa in the turkish consulate in Brazil.
